Then and Now

At new year’s, we tend to reflect on the year just past and the year ahead. We decided to take that one step further and reflect on our very early years versus today. Enjoy the drive down memory lane!

The Wayward logo. The sketches straight from our brains to the paper, versus a logo designed by a designer to convey the brand of Wayward Seed Farm.

The Wayward website. From our first “website” to a real website we won in a 250 word contest, one that is so beyond what anyone on the farm is capable of managing (hence the infrequent edits?!).

The Wayward CSA. From excel spreadsheets and manual calculation to a software program and real reports!

The CSA shares. From nine (yes NINE!) different CSA options ordered via snail mail, pen and paper and paper checks, to three, ordered online with credit or debit card and electronic check.

The farm. Practicing organic to being certified by OEFFA and starting an agricultural cooperative of only certified organic farmers.

Our fields of… Weeds needing handpicked to weeds that we mechanically cultivate.

Our products. From the apocalypse food (turnips) to certified organic sweet corn, cauliflower and broccoli. A true tip of the hat to Adam’s growing professionalism as a modern farmer.

Us. Ten years older, a few more pounds, a few more wrinkles, but ready to celebrate 10 years in 2016!
